Yes, this website is an example of shameless self-promotion. It is designed to communicate professional information about its author, me, in an effort to facilitate my career development.

Perhaps what may be of more interest to you is that it is also a launch point from which I can host other Internet applications, for example, the PM Zone.

After successfully completing the thirty-six hours of formal training as required by the Project Management Institute in order to sit for the PMP® exam, I realized the enormous amount of information involving the nine Knowledge Areas that would have to be assimilated and decided the best way for me to proceed would be to practice answering questions similar to what one might expect to find in the actual PMP® exam. After an exhaustive search of the Internet for some kind of test simulator with sample questions to study that was FREE, I came up empty so I decided to develop my own exam simulator, host it on the Internet, and share it with others.

Another use of this website is to host The Gold Page, a web page that provides information from a variety of sources for anyone concerned or just curious about what is happening to something that affects all of us, the U.S. Dollar. After all, most of us spend the better part of our lives working to earn and spend dollars so it only seems reasonable to know a little more about them than we do.

It's important to realize that gold is, first and foremost, a true store of value. Furthermore, gold is the only form of money that is no one else's liability and hence the only independent measure and store of value.

More recently, I added The Guitar Page as a place where I can communicate information about my recent pursuit of a long-time interest of mine in Classical Guitar. It's a work-in-progress that will grow as I my experience evolves.

This new form of media has seized the baton from the exhausted, weezing major broadcast and print journalism organizations, and the elite minority which runs them, and bids to supplant them as the primary source of news analysis and opinion for millions of people. It is a stunning example of "power" truly devolving to the people. We hope to make a small contribution to that noble endeavor.

The PM Zone (Technical)
The PM Zone is a Java-based, interactive website designed to provide a convenient way to prepare for the PMP® exam. The website is powered by Apache Tomcat running on Linux. It uses Servlets, JSPs, Java Beans, Custom Tag Libraries, and JavaScript. Communications with the MySQL database is via JDBC.

All the technology used to develop and host the PM Zone is free, open-source software!

Cookies
The PM Zone requires that cookies be enabled in the browser. This is so the system can track question and answer information used during the Study and Simulator sessions.

Two cookies are created: "cookies" - which is used to determine that the browswer has cookies enabled, and "JSESSIONID" - which actually enables the tracking of the Study and Simulator information.

Both cookies expire at the end of the session.
